Building products, building companies, building with Lego
Personal observations after 20 years of building stuff in tech.
Here's something I have wanted to do for a long, long time.
When I was a kid, I loved playing with Lego. Truth be told, I still do. :) Simple blocks of different shapes, sizes, and colors create complex universes of things.
When I was a teenager, I became obsessed with computers and the Internet. I saw almost endless possibilities. I saw the promise of a window to the world behind the iron curtain. I've been building Internet products since then. From websites about my favorite video games to products millions of people use daily.
At some point, someone saw potential in me and offered me the opportunity to lead others like me—people with a hunger to build products people love - engineers, designers, and product managers.
Over those 20 years of being in the tech industry, I had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people all around the world - as a teammate, as a manager, as a leader, and as a coach.
What’s Product Blocks?
I’ve learned there is a massive difference between how best product companies work and how most companies work.
As customers and employees, we deserve more great products and great product companies. That’s a win-win. And I want to help with that.
Today I am launching a newsletter about the building blocks used by the most successful product tech companies out there. Product Blocks for short.
I’ll explain how to apply product, design, engineering, management, and leadership best practices step-by-step.
You can already discover more than 100 best practices used by successful product tech companies.
A few examples:
